It's not enough just to fight back against the Republicans. We also need to build a positive vision of the future that Americans can believe in! This means Healthcare for All, affordable housing, quality education, protected retirement, a green grid, better roads and rails, and more. Healthcare for All Whether we implement Medicare for All right away or use federal funds to set up a universal healthcare system right here in California, the need is urgent to cover everyone. Housing Homeowners Can Afford We need to build more homes to keep up with demand: more single family homes, more condos, and more two- and three-flats in our towns and cities. Quality Education Our public schools and teachers should receive all the resources they need to give our kids a proper 21st Century education, from the very first day of Kindergarten to graduation day from our unmatched public university systems. Protected Retirement Social Security must be kept secure and fully-funded; these benefits are earned by everyday Americans over a lifetime of hard work, and must be stable and ready when each of us retires. A Green Grid Solar power is now the cheapest source of energy in human history; building a green grid is not just economically obvious, it is also the key to renovating our ancient power lines and guarding against future wildfires. Better Roads and Rails We need to provide real Commuter Choice by creatively using and expanding the infrastructure we have, including electrifying and running more passenger trains across our state in every direction, including over the Donner Pass, up north to Redding, and down towards the Bay. Completing the High-Speed Rail must be a priority for any legislator who claims to have the future of California in mind.
